Find your passion

Like the Harry Potter movie quote: “Every great wizard started here. If they can do it, then so can we.” Every great <place holder here>, started somewhere, if they can do it then so can you.

I never pictured myself a writer, but there it is. Although, I still treat is as a hobby. Maybe one day, I can make a living from it. Until then, I write because I love to write. It’s in my soul.

I wrote when I was younger. It was during my depression years. I wrote a lot of poetry. I have lost it all, but it was dark work, so it was probably for the best.

I took up writing again, about five years ago, I came back with a vengeance. I haven’t looked back.

I never thought of myself as a writer until I re-started writing.

I self-published a book. Looking back at things, I wish I could have gotten it professionally edited. There are many mistakes in in. Also, I did more ‘telling’ instead of ‘describing,’ but I have been told it is a decent story. I have corrected this with the sequel and I plan to hire a proper editor next time, which is why I am taking longer with it.

My main piece of writing is ideas, the novel, short-stories, verse, prose and this blog. I am also busy with social media – mainly Twitter, Facebook, and again, this blog. They keep me busy when I am not working my day job. I, likewise, enjoy socializing – I like to meet new people.

I am a social butterfly. I like to meet people at a coffee shop, or a bar, or wherever. I enjoy getting to know people. Specifically, I like to know where they are from, what they do, what they like, etc.

I have a simple life, but I enjoy it. I got to work, do my writing, eat, sleep and be merry at times; you see a simple life. I have all that I need: a loving partner, good family and friends, and my writing. I find joy in writing.

The point of this entry is that you need to do what you are passionate about. If you have a dream, or even if you don’t, then do what you love to do as a hobby. Find your passion. It will make this life worth living. It will make you happy and what else can anyone want?
