It’s raining again today. It was sunny and hot yesterday, so that was nice. Overall, I cannot really complain. I live in a rainforest, so the winter month most consists of a lot of rain usually for four months, or so.
This year, the rainy season is hanging on, and as a result, the season is longer. We even had some snow this year. Usually, it only snows in the mountains.
For the most part though, it was a good decision to relocate here. Ontario had very cold winters and extremely hot summers with the humidex thrown into it. British Columbia gets hot in the summer, but it usually cools down over night.
The weather isn’t the only reason that I moved here, but it was a definite plus. It’s all about trade offs, and the pluses far out reached the minuses.
Ultimately, it was the fact that I could no longer deal with the winters of Ontario. I could no longer walk on the snow and the ice. British Columbia has snow in the lower mainland, but it is a rare event. If things change due to climate change, then I will deal with if, or when, I need to deal with it. Until then, I will prod onward.
