To day was Pride in Vancouver. To celebrate, I went out with some friends.
We all met up at the pub where we all met. For some, it was the first meet up in quite some time. It was good to see everyone again.
It’s too bad we cannot get together more often. This difficult because some of us have moved out of the “Gay-hood”, they started new avenues in their lives. Others, well… we’re busy in our own day-to-day messy lives.
On those occasions when we do get together, we carry on where we left off. Almost as if we never parted.
A call, or a message on social media help us stay in touch though these pale in comparison to the reality of a face-to-face rendezvous, receiving a comforting hug or two.
My friends are the best part of me, and they always have my back.
