Weird dream

Funerals are supposed to be very somber events.

Imagine an old retired soldier, me. A soldier who no longer drives, relies on transit to take him everywhere. Now, imagine arriving to the cemetery, and I need to walk what feels like miles and miles. I prod along, and when I do eventually get to the grave, I discover I am at the wrong plot.

I see a service across the lane, and I figure that I confused the grave plot location, so I stroll over. When I arrive, I am handed an “In Memoriam” leaflet. Without truly observing the paper, I open it to read, “’Mummified’ John Adams…” A little taken aback, I think to myself, “What the fuck, did they mummify the guy?”

I immediately begin to laugh, lightly at first, but slowly growing louder and louder. I scramble to get away, as quickly as I can. I turn to hurry away.

Then, I woke up, and I thought, “Very strange.”
